Eiffage renews its commitment to biodiversity

Eiffage Group

Following an initial action plan launched in 2020, Eiffage is renewing its commitment to the French Biodiversity Agency (OFB) for the period 2023-2025, with 186 actions carried out by all of the Group's divisions. This three-year commitment renews Eiffage's status as a "Company committed to nature" (entreprises engagées pour la nature).

Eiffage's action in favour of biodiversity, as its low-carbon commitments, is part of an ambitious, long-term approach. It is a main focus of the Group's ecological transition strategy.

Eiffage has been involved in the preservation of the environment for over ten years. The Group has taken many initiatives to integrate environmental issues into its activities and to raise its employees awareness. Our partners have been working with us throughout this period to limit our impact on ecosystems.

The objective of the 2020-2022 biodiversity action plan was to structure an approach to preserve biodiversity in our activities with :

  • 14 core business actions,
  • 15 complementary actions.

Almost all of them have been completed.

In 2023, the Group's commitment to biodiversity will be intensified through the involvement of all its businesses. 186 actions have been defined, connected to their specificities and considerating the pressure on the biodiversity eroding factors. Over 3 years, many actions will be carried out to meet the challenges of climate change, for example :

  • ecological diagnoses,
  • habitat restoration,
  • development of ecological engineering,
  • alternative management of rainwater,
  • fight against invasive plant species,
  • environmental training…
