Ready for Claire's takeoff

Infrastructures Division

"Claire", the first tunnel boring machine on Line 14 South designed by the German company Herrenknecht, and reconditioned on site by the site teams, is now at the bottom of the Pont de Rungis station.

This real underground metal factory, 9 metres in diameter, 100 metres long and weighing around 1 200 tonnes, is intended to dig the tunnel that will connect the Pont De Rungis station to the Jean Prouvé annex.

The tunnel boring machine will progress by about 15 metres per day to dig more than 4 kilometres of underground until its final destination.

Its launch is expected in the next few days.
