Located on a 2.6-hectare site, the future tramway maintenance center of the TCL network consists of several buildings: a maintenance workshop, a washing area, a service station, a technical substation (housing transformers, catenary power supply, etc.), offices, and a huge covered area where trams are parked. This will be the fourth maintenance center for the TCL network, with Lyon Gerland also under construction, and Saint-Priest and Meyzieu already in operation.
As the contracting authority for the T10 project and the future Saint-Fons maintenance center, SYTRAL Mobilités has entrusted our electricians with the installation of electrical cabinets, cable trays, site lighting, as well as access control and fire safety systems (SSI). Video surveillance, switch configuration (IT network), intercom, public address system, installation of Wi-Fi terminals (and dedicated servers for transferring data from trams), and the installation of a dozen charging stations for service electric vehicles are also part of their prerogatives.
"Regarding Building Management System (BMS) and everything related to automation, we have developed a tailor-made supervision system that allows us to control site lighting and regulate building temperature. The software solution also offers maintenance teams the possibility to remotely control these installations (lighting and heating), exchange instructions, or identify a malfunction to remedy it quickly," explains Vincent Troussier, project manager.
In co-contracting with our electricians and automation specialists, a specialized team from our Branch will also be responsible for integrating 1,000 photovoltaic panels (for a total of 500 kWp) on 70% of the building roofs. The energy thus produced will be used for the maintenance center's self-consumption, which will reduce its energy bill.
On this project, which will mobilize 18 people at its peak, BIM studies will accumulate 3,300 hours (for electricity) and 3,600 hours (for automation). In total, our experts have planned 13,000 hours of work, all activities combined, including 2,500 hours of social integration.
