Eiffage Énergie takes charge of electrical renovation in the Duchesne Centre, Brétigny-sur-Orge

The Armed Forces' biomedical research centre Ernest Duchesne (Irba) was established in 2017 on the Ministry of Defence's military site in Bretigny sur Orge. Eiffage Énergie's teams were entrusted with setting up two 20 kV transformer substations following the removal of the centre's 15 kV power supply loop.

Our teams began by removing the centre's six high-voltage transformer substations, (comprising a high-voltage 15 kV loop). These will be replaced by two 20 kV substations with 630 and 800 kVA of output respectively.

They will go on to set up the high and low voltage connections for all the buildings on the site, and carry out earthworks.

Having finished this stage, our teams will finally be able to install a 630 KVA generator for backup power, to complete the electrical work on the site, a former air base.

Work began on 16 January 2016, and should be completed by 15 June 2017, enabling the finished project to be handed over on 30 June 2017 as scheduled.
