Eiffage Énergie takes part in renovation work on Millau Viaduct rest area

Our teams worked in perfect symbiosis with Eiffage Route (responsible for redeveloping the rest area road surface and the asphalts) in different technical fields to upgrade this atypical motorway rest area which is a genuine touristic and panoramic showcase for the viaduct against its spectacular backdrop of Aveyron landscape.

The first team, in charge of renovating all the networks (power, lighting, video and optical fibre), began by fitting the 160 light fixtures, before moving on to recover 4,690 ml of underground cables. More specifically, 104 LED-equipped light poles with reduced voltage were supplied and installed.

The second team handled renovation of the existing sanitary facilities and the creation of the Garage, Brocuéjouls rest area's machine room. Our staff also took charge of upgrading the Reception and Tourist Information Area and set up its scenographic project.

All this work took place during May and June 2017, allowing the inauguration of the rest area on 5 July just before the start of the school holidays.
