With the signing of the contract in July 2026, Eiffage Construction embarks on a new chapter in the urban history of Saint-Germain-en-Laye.
The future "Les Sources" school complex is part of the extensive "Aménagement du Cœur des Sources" project—a 3.15-hectare community hub designed to revitalize the Bel Air Eco-neighborhood, a former 1970s priority development area (ZUP) undergoing full transformation. Alongside the reconstruction of the school, this second phase of the project (2026–2028) includes the development of a landscaped urban park that will extend the neighborhood's living space.
The new school complex, with a total floor area of 2,900 sq.m, will accommodate 16 classrooms in total: 10 elementary classes and 6 nursery/kindergarten classes, complemented by an extracurricular facility and a multipurpose hall. This comprehensive facility, designed to meet the needs of a demographically evolving neighborhood, will also stand adjacent to a cultural and sports facility scheduled for handover in the first quarter of 2027.
The project is subject to the RE 2020 environmental regulation and the "Energy-Carbon" framework, making environmental performance a cornerstone of its design. Beyond regulatory standards, the construction site incorporates an ambitious reuse and circular economy component, reflecting the shared commitment of both the client and Eiffage Construction to build differently, with responsibility and restraint.
In concrete terms, an initial audit identified reusable materials from the current school: 46 restroom washbasins and nearly 400 coat hooks will be cleaned and reinstalled as-is in the new premises, along with part of the suspended ceiling tiles. Materials not reused on-site will be reclaimed through specialized reuse networks: the old school is thus regenerated using its own materials.
Work will begin in the third quarter of 2026, with handover expected in the fourth quarter of 2027.
Congratulations to the Eiffage Construction teams on this great success, which demonstrates our ability to address the most demanding challenges of sustainable construction and urban renewal!
