A colossal project is set to begin in 2025:
- 5 months of work;
- One hundred employees and partners mobilized for this operation;
- The replacement of 4 track switches (points and crossings), each measuring 167 meters long, equivalent to one and a half football fields!
Precision work.
The components are transported by rail, lifted into place, connected by welding, and the ballast is reinstated. The work takes place between the passage of the last train of the previous day and the first train of the morning.
An intensive schedule.
- June-July: Assembly of track switches
- September: Preparatory work
- October: Installation of 4 brand new track switches at Izel-lès-Equerchin station
- November-December: Remedial work operations to enable TGV trains to run at 300 km/h
This will be followed by numerous other projects, with the next stage scheduled for 2026 in Avelin (59) and Roeux (62).
