Eiffage Construction wins the contract for the reconstruction of the college in Épône (78)

Eiffage Construction is taking charge of the Clos Couvert package for the reconstruction of the Benjamin Franklin school in Épône (Yvelines), a modern and modular building which will accommodate up to 800 students from 2027 in an environmentally friendly setting.

Eiffage Construction has won the new contract for the reconstruction of the Benjamin Franklin middle school in Épône (78). Located a few meters from the current school, the project will replace an outdated and undersized building with a modern one, capable of accommodating up to 800 students and 89 staff members from the start of the 2027 school year. Construction will begin in March 2026.

The project will include the construction of the new school building, followed by the demolition of the old building and the construction of staff housing. One of the challenges of the project is carrying out the work on a constrained site: the old school will remain operational throughout the duration of the construction.

Designed to address environmental challenges, the school combines timber-framed walls and facades, green roofs, and composite wood-concrete floors. The interior and exterior spaces have been designed to promote comfort, light, and flexibility, featuring a central hall, an educational garden, a tree-lined courtyard, a sports field, a greenhouse, and an orchard. The bio-based and recyclable materials used contribute to achieving RE2020 certification and the "Bio-based Building" level 2 label.

The project will mobilize up to 35 employees at peak times, for a total of 1,500 hours of integration work, and delivery is scheduled for July 2027. A big congratulations to the teams for this new contract!
