Eiffage Génie Civil and Forézienne resized the spillway of the Rustrel (84) reservoir

At the heart of the Colorado Provençal, our Eiffage Génie Civil and Forézienne teams provided their expertise on this project to bring the dam's evacuation capacity into compliance.

To meet regulatory requirements and ensure the dam's safety against floods, the evacuation capacity was increased from 10 m³/s to 56 m³/s.

First step, raising the walls of the existing spillway by nearly 45 meters.
An operation that combined traditional reinforced concrete and prefabricated walls, up to 4 meters high, increasing containment capacity.

Second step, construction of a new 155-meter reinforced concrete spillway, providing most of the capacity gain.
Its completion required more than 6,500 m³ of earthworks, the implementation of 900 m³ of structural concrete, and the shaping of 86 tons of steel.

The project was characterized by high technicality, notably the management of an average slope of 8%, the realization of complex formwork for a curved layout, and the construction of inclined walls to maximize the sealing of embankments during the compaction phase.

Congratulations to our teams for this technical project!
