After excavating 2,539 meters, our TBM has commenced its transfer for a second drive of 2,122 meters. This marks a complex and impressive logistical phase for the project.
The highlight of the operation was the transport of its cutting wheel: measuring 10.11 meters high and weighing nearly 150 tons, it was transported vertically and in a single piece.
This special convoy traveled at 3 km/h under full security escort between the Ponts-Jumeaux and La Vache Gare - Le Grand Marché areas.
In total, about fifteen convoys will be required to transport all components of the shield, starting with the front section of the machine, which includes the cutting wheel, the shield skin, and the erector.
This is a crucial milestone in preparing the Berthe de Puybusque TBM for its next major challenge: a second drive towards the future Raisin station.
