Eiffage is supporting the Chaîne de l’Espoir association in Senegal

The Cuomo paediatric cardiology centre, jointly financed by the Cuomo Foundation, the government of Senegal and the Chaîne de l’Espoir association to the tune of €7 million, was built by Eiffage Sénégal at the Fann University Teaching Hospital in Dakar.

The Cuomo paediatric cardiology centre is the first specialised health centre in West Africa for children suffering from heart conditions, the number of which is estimated at almost 30,000 in Senegal.
The centre, which opened in January 2017, is the result of an exceptional partnership between the Chaîne de l’Espoir association and Eiffage Sénégal.

From the start of the project, Eiffage Sénégal wanted to contribute to the centre’s construction by coordinating the design studies and the preliminary studies prior to construction for free, which represented a saving of €40,000.
Eiffage Sénégal also reduced the price of the works by €60,000, to enable the project to get off the ground. In addition to financial support, all the Eiffage Sénégal teams working on the project were 100% dedicated to finishing the works as efficiently as possible.

In 2016, as part of its sponsorship initiatives, Eiffage Sénégal contributed to financing surgical care for ten underprivileged children, to allow them to undergo operations at the Cuomo paediatric cardiology centre, donating €3,000 for each child. In November 2016, during celebrations to mark the 90th anniversary of Eiffage commercial operations in Senegal, Benoît de Ruffray visited the centre and presented a cheque for €30,000 euros (20 million CFA francs) to the directors of the Chaîne de l’Espoir association.
The first two operations took place at the end of January 2017.
