Two Eiffage projects receive 2017 “Green Solutions Awards”

On the run up to the United Nations COP 23 annual Climate Change Conference being held in Bonn (Germany) from 6 to 17 November 2017, the Construction21 network unveiled the winners of the 2017 “Green Solutions Awards” on Thursday 7 September. The idea behind the competition organised by Construction21, a network dedicated to professionals active in the sustainable building and city sector, is to highlight concrete solutions that contribute to limiting global warming to less than 2°C.
Two Eiffage projects received the French public choice award: LyonTech-la Doua University in Villeurbanne (Rhône), an eco-campus renovation and construction project, and Cestas solar farm (Gironde).

With production capacity of 300 MW, Cestas solar farm, which has been in operation since November 2015, took just eleven months to complete. This impressive performance called for industrial organisation and monopolised the skills of the Group’s Energy division (Clemessy, Eiffage Énergie Aquitaine and Eiffage Energía), Eiffage Route and Eiffage Construction.

Selected as part of the Campus programme to renovate French universities, Lyon Cité Campus aims to completely modernise and restructure Lyon University. At LyonTech-la Doua, a scientific and technology cluster, a vast renovation and construction programme involving 22 buildings is underway, paving the way for development of an internationally-recognised sustainable eco-campus.

Thanks to everyone who voted and congratulations to the teams rewarded for their work in the field. The two winning French projects are now in the running for the global awards, which will put them fully under spotlight.
