Eiffage Foundation: a solidarity restaurant for homeless people in Cergy

The Espérer 95 association assists extremely marginalised people in the Val-d’Oise area. With support from the Eiffage Foundation, it has opened a solidarity restaurant for the homeless, enabling 8 women alienated from the workplace to find employment.

The Espérer 95 association welcomes and assists people facing marginalisation and social exclusion in the Val-d'Oise region, thanks to six areas of focus: shelter, lodging, access to housing, reception and housing of migrants, social/legal support, professional integration /training.

In April 2018, the association opened a solidarity restaurant serving 120-130 meals a day (costing €1) for homeless people from the Cergy-based association’s day and night shelters. The restaurant employs 8 women on access to employment schemes.
Jean-Christophe Rocha, works manager at Eiffage Construction, is supporting the project. Funding from the Foundation helped to buy a refrigerated vehicle to collect unsold food items from supermarkets and deliver meals, as well as kitchen equipment (a chiller and professional oven).
