This Contract, of more than 350 M€, has been awarded further to the execution of the Front End Engineering Design (FEED) contract started in April 2018. Eiffage successfully worked in a collaborative approach with BP on optimizing the design of the marine infrastructures, matured the execution plan, and prepared the launching of EPCI Phase.
The Hub/Terminal marine infrastructure is located 10 km from shore and encompasses berthing facilities for a permanently moored FLNG, the loading of LNG Carriers, and an offshore breakwater to shelter those facilities.
The execution plan, as developed by Eiffage, is based on an important local content involving both Mauritania and Senegal, with the aim of enhancing capabilities in those two countries.
The 21 concrete caissons (55 m long, 28 m width, 31 m high, 16 500 t each), forming the breakwater will be built by Eiffage in Dakar (Senegal). Their installation by 33 m water depth will be completed by 2020. Moreover, the 2.5 million tons of quarry materials required for the underwater rumble mound for the caissons’ bed will be produced, transported and loaded for installation from Mauritania.
