This contract, assigned by TenneT (European electricity transmission system operator with activities in the Netherlands and in Germany) following a European tender procedure, includes a 45-meter-high jacket of 1,930 T, 870 T piles to be placed in 24-meter water depth, and a topside structure of 47 meters long, 35 meters wide and 25 meters high, including 4 decks weighing approximatively 4,100 T.
Iemants is in charge of the engineering, procurement and construction of the steel structures for both the topside and jacket. All works will be performed, at the Smulders’ production facilities in Arendonk, Balen and Hoboken, in Belgium. The topside will be transferred to the ENGIE Fabricom yard for final assembly.
ENGIE Fabricom, is responsible for the engineering, procurement, integration, construction and testing (on- and offshore) of all LV, MV, HV and auxiliary systems for the jacket and topside. These steps will take place at the ENGIE Fabricom yards: in Hoboken (Belgium) for the topside and in Vlissingen (the Netherlands) for the jacket.
Engineering works have started, and construction works for the topside and jacket will start in October 2020. Load-out of the jacket is planned for the fall of 2021. The topside is scheduled to leave the yard in Hoboken in the spring of 2022.
With this new contract, Eiffage Métal reaffirms its European leadership position in the market for jacket foundations, transition pieces and electrical substations for offshore wind farms.
