Eiffage Énergie takes charge of installing electricity on the ECOGI project in Rittershoffen, Alsace

ECOGI is the world's first project for directly recycling heat from deep geothermal energy by means of a high-temperature industrial process. The project now supplies the Benheim plant of Roquette Frères, world leader in corn and wheat starch transformation. Eiffage Énergie Alsace Franche-Comté, recognized for their expertise and in-depth knowledge of the customer user, were entrusted with installing the electricity in this operations plant.

To start with, our teams carried out studies on the automation cabinets, frequency inverter chassis, power polarity safety chassis and emergency stops, and others on the valve monitoring and control cabinets (BESTEC and CALFAT).

They then constructed the cable ducts for high and low voltage current on the site, before going on to wire 490 instruments (temperature and pressure probes, flow sensors etc.) plus 50 motors (ranging in power from 0.18 kW to 896 kW with voltage of 690 V for the well pump) and 97 motorized electrical valves.

Seven automation cabinets and the frequency inverter chassis were installed in partnership with Eiffage Énergie Industrie Nord's Verquin branch.

This electrical work began in January 2016, and was completed in June of the same year, in time for inauguration on 7 June in the presence of Ecology, Sustainability and Energy Minister Ségolène Royal. Project revenue was initially expected to be 235,000€ but finally reached 510,000€.
