The Bourg-de-Péage Drôme Handball club was founded more than 20 years ago near Valence (Drôme) and has over 300 members. It moved into the women's first division in 2017. It is currently developing a social/educational programme that includes an initiative to promote equality between the sexes, setting up a training organisation and an access to employment scheme.
In 2018, the association is launching a social/employment integration initiative. 24 young people who have dropped out of school or who are alienated from the workplace will participate in an intensive week of sport and meetings with companies. They will receive support for a period of 6 months.
Osman Kalin, accounting manager at AER (Infrastructures), is supporting the project.
The Eiffage Foundation is helping to fund a minibus to provide transport for young people taking part in the club's activities.
