Halbatros : Intelligent Hypervision for optimized network management and mobility

The Energy Systems branch has been working for over 20 years with a range of road and motorway operators in France and abroad. The Hypervision and Solutions (H&S) departments in Lyon and Mulhouse aim to provide these customers with our experts' know-how and experience in IT and smart supervision in the fields of transport, local authorities, and mobility in the broadest sense. The growing needs of urban centres and transport authorities (in terms of mobility) make them another identified target for the deployment of hypervision solutions such as Halbatros.

In order to meet the specific needs of network management customers, specialists in the H&S department have developed cutting-edge digital solutions (or hypervision tools) for smarter day-to-day operations. "In real terms, these are Operations Support Systems (OSS), which digitize operating procedures and assist operators. So when an incident occurs on the network, the operator is guided through the actions to be taken to ensure user safety and the proper transmission of information until the incident is fully resolved," said H&S Department Director Filipe De Almeida.

One of the software programmes developed by our experts, called Halbatros, can be adapted to the needs of each customer. “Halbatros interfaces naturally with the technical equipment deployed by Eiffage Énergie Systèmes teams (street lighting and traffic lights, access control, video surveillance, etc.) to coordinate its management more effectively and improve its use by the operator,” continued Filipe De Almeida.

Our H&S departments in Lyon and Mulhouse design and develop hypervision solutions, such as Halbatros, which assist operators in the day-to-day management of their networks and support them from needs assessment to maintenance. “Within three weeks, we set up a demo environment tailored to each operator's context and covering 80% of their needs. Once we've taken their more specific requirements into account, we can offer them a corrective maintenance contract that is scalable and ensures security”, explained Filipe De Almeida.

Thanks to their skills and operational knowledge, it takes just six months to roll out a complete project. For example, the Isère department has just awarded our experts the contract to maintain and renovate its road monitoring tool, Itinisère. APRR has entrusted them with expertise and support assignments in the maintenance, sustainability and development of its motorway operating tools. Our specialists are also involved in tunnel management and speed control systems in Switzerland.

"The Halbatros solution is currently under development. We've laid the groundwork and are now working on events and action plans. The first rollout will take place in autumn 2026, for the Isère department," said Filipe De Almeida. Ultimately, our experts want to add AI-based predictive components (weather, impacts) and a public website, in order to open up the solution to other sectors (local authorities, water, energy).
