The Charente coastline is getting a new water tower

In the town of Breuillet (17), our teams completed this project in record time using the sliding formwork method. This project stands out for its technical complexity: the use of sliding formwork allows for continuous progress, 24/7.

The formwork is gradually raised by hydraulic jacks.

In numbers, this project represents:

  • 1,000 m³ of storage capacity
  • 700 m³ of concrete
  • Nearly 52 m high
  • 9 m in diameter at the base
  • 17 m in diameter at the top
  • A constant slope of 7.75 cm per meter
  • 19 days of lifting

This project, led by Eau 17, will ensure the long-term supply of drinking water to several municipalities on the Arvert Peninsula. It aims to anticipate future challenges, such as the effects of climate change and consumption peaks linked to tourism.

Its design, thanks to the interconnection, will enhance the network’s flexibility and, if necessary, support other areas of the Royan Atlantique metropolitan community.
