Nestled in a unique setting between the coastline and famous megalithic alignments, the Carnac thalassotherapy center has undergone a complete transformation. The project involved the partial demolition and extensive restructuring of the existing buildings, including two hotels and a thalassotherapy center, to create a new, modern facility dedicated to well-being.
The work began in February 2024 and was completed in mid-October 2025, after 18 months of construction. The operation mobilized up to 200 workers across the entire site, in a constrained environment, in the heart of the city and by the sea.
The project was distinguished by its high level of technical challenge. The teams preserved some of the existing structures while carrying out extensions and expansions, with significant structural reinforcement work using micropiles and carbon plates. The reconstruction of four seawater pools heated to 33°C, in an aggressive, chlorinated environment, required particular attention to the choice of materials and the quality of execution. The project also includes the creation of two hammams, two saunas, and numerous wet and dry treatment rooms, within a completely redesigned space.
From an architectural point of view, the project asserts a sober and elegant style, giving pride of place to wood cladding and zinc, in harmony with the natural and coastal environment of Carnac.
Carried out in a demanding environment in the heart of the town of Carnac, the delivery of the thalassotherapy center marks the culmination of a project with high technical stakes.
A huge congratulations to all the teams involved in the success of this project, delivered two weeks ahead of schedule!
