Handover ceremony for the first phase of the Cotonou Port expansion in Benin

At the Port of Cotonou, the Eiffage Génie Civil teams have completed the first phase of the works to expand the basin and renovate the North and South quays.

The ceremony was held on January 30th, attended by Benin's Minister of Living Environment and Transport, in charge of Sustainable Development; representatives from the Port of Cotonou and Benin Terminal; as well as the project owner, Tanger Med Engineering.

During the event, several of our team members were formally recognized for their outstanding commitment to safety and prevention on-site.

Just a few days after the handover, this new section of the port welcomed its first vessel, marking an immediate start to its operational life.

The Project in Numbers:

  • 400 meters of new quays constructed to a depth of 16 meters.
  • 4,200 tons of steel utilized.
  • 400,000 paving stones laid.
  • 21,000 m³ of concrete poured.

Congratulations to our dedicated teams, as well as to our partners Spie Batignolles Fondations and ADEOTI SA, on the successful completion of this major project phase!
