#APRRcontrelabandon: APRR’s new commitment with the SPA

Grupa APRR

For the third year running, APRR and the SPA (the French Society for the Protection of Animals) have joined together to fight against the abandonment of domestic animals through a public awareness initiative on social media from 13 July.
This year, the initiative has received the support of Benoît de Ruffray via LinkedIn and from on-line influencers.

A stronger partnership
In 2017 and 2018, the operations carried out with the #APRRcontrelabandon hashtag enabled 60,000 euros to be collected for feeding and caring for abandoned domestic animals.
In 2019, APRR and the SPA are again setting up a new team for combatting this blight, which represents some 100,000 abandoned animals per year, 40,000 of which just in the summer!
Employees of the APRR group often have to face this problem over the 2,300 km of our motorway network located between Paris, Lyon, Mulhouse, Clermont-Ferrand and Grenoble. This is why APRR is continuing its partnership with the SPA for the third year running.
Once again this year, each one of us will be able to use social networks. From Saturday 13 July, the start of the big holiday getaway, Internet users will be able to publish a selfie on the Internet with their pet accompanied by the #APRRcontrelabandon hashtag. For each photo published, APRR will pay 1 euro to the SPA, up to a limit of 40,000 euros.

Support from Benoît de Ruffray
Benoît de Ruffray will also be supporting this initiative on his LinkedIn account (1). He reminds us of the distressing issue of abandoning animals on the motorway and praises the information and awareness initiatives carried out by the teams of the APRR Group throughout the summer. The CEO of Eiffage is also inviting pet owners to publish a selfie with their little companions, accompanied by the #APRRcontrelabandon hashtag, for making their contribution to the donation to the SPA.

Influencers are also becoming involved
This year the partnership is becoming larger and welcomes new spokespersons, highlighting the universal aspect of the cause. The most popular influencers are making a stand against abandoning animals by promoting their own four-legged friends, who have also become real stars on social networks.
So EnjoyPhoenix and her pug Jelly and her shiba Natsu, along with Jujufitcats and Pushyourpink, are all coming forwards against abandoning pets!
